Is it bad when you forget you Goat's name?

Today Chili got a new friend, err, I'd introduce him to you but I forgot his name. Instead I'll show you a picture.

Why I have a goat that I can't remember his name is kinda a long story. Hubby says we should put up a sign that says, Unwanted farm animals, we're your suckers. I'm still trying to convince him that the goat is just visiting, but he's not falling for that.  Hey when we were first married that's how he suckered me into a Mastiff. That horse sized mutt was only staying for the weekend while his owners went out of town. Hubby forgot to mention that they moved out of the state that weekend! Paybacks fun☻
Anyhoo, back to the goat. I really wanted some goats, had a chance of getting 6 goats and hubby and son were big naysayers. We don't have goatproof fencing, son says, so out went that idea. Then son says "So and So if I could remember his name I'd know my goats name because the goat is named after him needs to get rid of his goat can we keep him?" "What about the fences?" I ask him. Oh I'll fix up the fences, he can stay in the barn pen til I get them done. I think I replied something like sure, but if your father asks he's just visiting for the weekend, but don't hold me to that. It was very hot and I was working in the garden at the time, maybe I had heatstroke? Hubby doesn't believe the weekend bit, and doesn't think the barn pen will hold him in. And I have a goat who I can't remember his name and he also seems very skinny to me, so since I know nothing about goats, I'll now have a vet's bill soon to. But he is kinda cute, and I saw Chili giving him a sniff  kiss so I guess he's a keeper.

Chili Video

This is an awful cell phone video that I took of me feeding Chili while I work with her to allow me to touch and pet her. So sorry for the video quality.

Springtime Workings

I love working outside, no matter if I'm in the garden or working on the chicken coop Chili's always looking over my shoulder just waiting with an offer to help. We've been busy With my Aunts old playhouse and a chicken run my son got from a friend we're slowly getting the Girls coop done. They are beginning to get their wing feathers.

Got most of the seeds done that need to be started inside the house. I turned my buffet into a greenhouse. My poor dining room with chickens and a greenhouse, good thing no one wants to come near us since we're still getting over the flu, they can't see my mess. That's the green house on the left. I have 4 grow lights all plugged into a timer so they get the correct amount of light. and since our house can get chilly I put in a radiator to keep the temp. at a constant temperature. This year I'm using 2 liter soda bottles to start the seeds in.
Got the paths done in the garden. I'm cutting seed potatoes tonight and will plant those soon as I get the final tilling done.

Chili's healthy as a Llama

Chili's checked out healthy as a Llama can be. We spent yesterday disinfecting the barn and watertank and making all areas nice for Chili. We were really worried about how she would react without Sassy. Llamas are very sociable and don't like to be alone, but she seems fine with it. She's eating up all the extra attention from us. The grandkids are taking this fairly well, At 5 years old every time DGD gets upset about Sassy we can easily distract her with how funny she thinks it is that Grandpa had a Llama in his livingroom next to his fire and chair all tucked up in a blanket.

Chili

Got num nums?

How was your Labor Day?

Saturday - DS won 3rd place in the In the C Class at the OXC Ozarks Cross Country ATV Championship. That's him on the left, I wish he would keep those wheels on the ground.
Sunday - I sewed 4 Jumpers for my DGD. And finished sewing 7 cloth shopping bags that my mom ordered from me to give away as presents.
Monday - my DS and I spent the day fencing in a bigger pasture area for the girls, aka the Llamas. I hurt everywhere, even my toenails hurt. But boy were there 2 happy Llama's running around when we let them out into the bigger pasture. Chili was running around kicking up her back heels in the air and both of them were observed rolling around in the grass a couple of timesRight now I'm reducing 30 lbs of tomatoes into Spaghetti Sauce so I can get them processed into jars and I still need to bake a cake for DGS's 1st Birthday tomorrow.

I Can't Wait for Tomorrow

smile

The reason, late tomorrow afternoon Sassy and Chili, two adolescent Llamas come to live with us. I've wanted to raise llamas ever since I was in Bolivia with the Army, but my husband has been very anti llama. I tried all my feminine reasoning with him, and still no go. Then I wake up this morning and my son tells me that a friend of his is giving us two of his llamas if we want them. I say heck yea, but dad said no lamas, to which son replies dad said he doesn't care just don't expect him to tote them water. DS spent all day putting up fenceing in the back field for them. Tomarrow i'll have to help him finish it up and buy some feed, then he will pick them up in the late afternoon.
I haven't even met them yet and i'm already in

PS, I see chickens in the spring
